Approval and audit
Lesson 101 of 153 · 12 min
Configure the approval rules — manager approval, then a cost-centre-owner rule above a threshold. Submit a report and approve it. Then configure the audit selection rules: random sampling, rule-based selection, and always-audit for certain types. Process a report through audit, return one for correction, and look at the audit queue and the auditor's own view. Audit selection is a control the client's internal audit function will ask about, so get their input rather than choosing a percentage yourself. Random sampling at a low percentage, plus targeted rules, is the standard pattern and it is defensible in a way that either half alone is not. And the approval hierarchy depends on HR supervisory data — the same dependency flagged in the Payables module. If HR is not live, this needs a plan, and the plan is somebody else's work, so raise it early.
