Everyone at once, one after another, or told without being asked. Three shapes, and the right one is the one that matches how the business actually decides. SERIAL: one after another. Each approver sees the previous decision, and a rejection stops the chain. It is slow by construction — five approvers is five sequential waits — and it is right where the later approvers genuinely rely on the earlier ones having agreed. PARALLEL: everyone at once. Much faster, and the decision to make explicitly is whether you need ALL of them or ANY of them. All-of means one person on leave stops everything; any-of means the first responder decides, which is right for "somebody from finance must see this" and wrong for "both budget holders must agree". FYI: told without being asked. No decision, no waiting, no blocking. Massively under-used, and it is the correct answer to half the requests…
