What ships enabled, what still has A DOCUMENTED PASSWORD, and THE CHECK TO RUN ON AN ESTATE YOU HAVE JUST INHERITED. An EBS installation creates a large number of database accounts, and their default passwords are published in Oracle's own documentation — which is entirely reasonable and means an account left at its default is open to anybody who reads. SO THE ACCOUNTS THAT MATTER ARE THE ONES NOBODY USES. The ones people log in with get changed, because somebody would notice. The dozens of product schema accounts nobody has ever connected as are exactly the ones nobody changed — and several of them can read the data the accounts people worry about hold.
