Implementing Project Portfolio Management: From Organization Structure to Recognized Revenue · Module 2 · Security and Data Access

Provisioning users

Lesson 16 of 198 · 12 min

Create an implementation user with the appropriate roles plus employee. Create four business users: project manager, project accountant, billing specialist, resource manager. Assign job and abstract roles, run role regeneration, then sign in as the project manager and show an EMPTY work area — which sets up the next lesson. Ending on the empty page is deliberate. It is not resolved here. Every user needs the employee abstract role. PPM USERS ARE USUALLY ALSO HCM PEOPLE RECORDS. If HCM is not implemented, somebody must create person records anyway. It is a real dependency — it surprises people, and it is a work package rather than a checkbox.
