Building your plan

Lesson 198 of 201 · 14 min

Open the plan template. Separate the work into THREE STREAMS: audit remediation (ninety days, non-negotiable), structural remediation (identity, residency, longer), and operating capability (ongoing). This separation is the key move. Sequence the audit findings first and show why each is achievable in ninety days; sequence the structural work behind it, with dependencies; identify what can run in parallel; mark the decisions needing client input as documented assumptions; mark the three flagship decisions as GATES; and show where the CFO's AI request lands, and why it is not in the first ninety days. THE THREE-STREAM SEPARATION IS THE PROFESSIONAL MOVE. A plan that treats audit remediation, structural fixes and operating capability as ONE BACKLOG will miss the ninety-day deadline. AUDIT FINDINGS ARE DATED COMMITMENTS. Everything else negotiates around them. The AI request is real and it is not urgent. Handling that conversation well is part of the assessment.
