Implementing Cloud Financials: From Empty Pod to Go-Live · Module 6 · Banks, Branches and Cash Management

Loading a bank statement

Lesson 61 of 153 · 11 min

Configure the statement format, map the transaction codes for your bank, upload the statement file, run the import process and watch it complete. Then review the imported statement — header, lines, balances. The lesson also runs a deliberately malformed file so you can see it fail and read the error properly, and shows manual statement entry as the fallback. The opening balance on a statement must agree with the closing balance of the prior one. If it does not, the file is wrong or a statement is missing. Check that before investigating anything else — it is one glance and it saves an afternoon of matching work that could never have succeeded. And import failures are almost always format mapping rather than data. Read the error literally; it usually names the line and the field.
