Implementing Cloud Financials: From Empty Pod to Go-Live · Module 8 · Payables and Payments
Payment terms and distribution sets
Lesson 78 of 153 · 10 min
Review the delivered payment terms, then create a custom one with multiple instalments. Create a discount term and show the discount calculating on an invoice. Create a distribution set for a recurring cost split. And show reference data set assignment for terms — the concept from the common configuration module, made concrete on an object you can see. Payment terms drive cash forecasting and the aging report. Sloppy terms produce useless forecasts, and the treasurer will believe the forecast until the day it fails them. Distribution sets save enormous data entry time on recurring invoices like rent or utilities. They are an underused feature and worth showing properly rather than mentioning.
