Getting an environment you can break

You need somewhere you are allowed to break things, and this is the lesson that decides whether you follow along or watch. Three routes, and an honest account of each. One: an employer's or client's test pod. The best option by far — real data volumes, real security, real integrations. It is also somebody else's environment, which is the constraint that matters: ask before you refresh anything, publish a sandbox, or schedule a job that runs at scale. Two: an Oracle-provided environment, through a partner arrangement or a trial. Clean, yours, and usually short-lived. Fine for reporting, loads and extensions; the awkwardness is that a fresh pod has no data, so you will spend the first hour creating something to report on. Three: no environment at all.
