Restoring to a different host

The REALISTIC disaster case, and the several things that are ONLY DISCOVERED THE FIRST TIME YOU TRY IT. The disaster you plan for is the loss of a host, so the recovery you must be able to perform is onto a different one. Restoring onto the original machine is a useful drill and it is not the case that matters — and it proves less than it seems to, because everything the original host already had is silently supplying half of what a real recovery would need.
