A BUSINESS DECISION, not a technical one. Who to ask, and THE AUDIT ANSWER THAT OVERRIDES YOUR PREFERENCE. The retention number is the only real decision in this module and it is not yours to make. WHAT YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE IS THE COST, AND THAT IS GENUINELY USEFUL. Five years of history is this many gigabytes, adds this much to every backup, and this much to a restore — Module 5 Lesson 10's number. Those figures make the trade visible; without them the business will always say keep everything, because keeping everything appears free.
