WHAT YOU CANNOT DO IS MOST OF THIS COURSE. There is no SQL*Plus session against the production schema. You do not take the backups, you do not schedule the patching, you do not size the instance, you do not tune the database, and you do not have a file system to look at. Oracle does all of it, and the schema is not documented for you to query directly — the OIC course says the same thing from the integration side.
WHAT REMAINS IS REAL AND IS A DIFFERENT JOB WITH A DIFFERENT NAME. Environment management: which instances exist, what they are for, and refreshing test from production. The quarterly update: reading the release note, running the regression pack, testing in the window. Security administration: roles, data access, users. Integration and reporting: the interfaces in and out, which is where most of the technical work goes.
THE HONEST ANSWER IF YOUR ESTATE IS ALREADY ENTIRELY SaaS IS THAT THIS IS NOT THE COURSE YOU NEED. Take the Fusion Technical course for the extension and reporting work, or the OIC course for the integration work. Saying that plainly is better than taking your money and letting you find out in Module 4.
AND THE COMMON CASE IN THIS MARKET IS NEITHER: IT IS BOTH AT ONCE. An EBS estate migrating to Fusion over years, with both running and interfaced. Then this course is exactly right, and it has an end date somebody should be honest with you about — the EBS skills stop being needed when the last instance is decommissioned, and planning a career on the assumption that never happens is the mistake this lesson exists to prevent.
