OIC and the rest of the Oracle estate

Where it sits against Fusion, OCI, VBCS and Process — and what is included against what is a separate purchase, which is the part that produces awkward conversations late. FUSION is the application estate, and OIC is not part of it. They are separate products with separate licences, separate environments and separate upgrade cycles. An organisation with Fusion does not automatically have OIC, and that is worth confirming before designing around it. OCI is the infrastructure OIC runs on. You do not administer it, and it matters mainly for identity, networking and where things are hosted — which becomes relevant when an integration has to reach something inside a client's own network. VBCS builds user interfaces; OIC moves data. They are frequently sold together and they answer different questions.
