Create an invoice format and enter header information. Enter the format details — the grouping and the columns. Create a labour format grouping by person and task, then a summary format grouping by expenditure category only. Show the same costs presented under both formats. Assign a format to a bill plan. THE INVOICE FORMAT IS WHAT THE CLIENT SEES. It is the most externally visible artifact in the whole implementation — and it is usually configured last, by somebody in a hurry. That is why this lesson opens the module rather than closing it. GROUPING IS THE DESIGN DECISION. A client who wants every timecard line itemized and a client who wants one line per month need different formats. Ask; do not assume. Show the same costs two ways.
