Payroll completes and the costs never appear in the ledger.
Most likely causes
- Transfer to Subledger Accounting has not run. Costing and transfer are separate processes; a costed payroll is not a transferred one.
- Accounting was created but not posted. Draft accounting exists in the subledger and does not reach the ledger until posted in final.
- A costing rule produces no account for some elements. Those results are suspended rather than failing the run, so the total transferred is short without any error.
- The accounting period is not open. A closed period holds the transfer without failing it.
What to check
- Which of costing, transfer, create accounting and post has actually run for that payroll — in that order.
- Whether any costing results are in suspense, and for which elements.
- The status of the accounting period being posted into.
- Whether accounting was created in draft or final mode.
If none of the above explains it, raise a ticket and include what you checked. Reading this article cost you no hours.
