Administering Cloud EPM: The Platform Beneath the Business Processes · Module 5 · Business Processes and Migration
Essbase in Cloud EPM
Lesson 59 of 201 · 1 min
Essbase is the multidimensional calculation engine underneath Planning and several other business processes. You do not administer it directly. And you do need to know it is there. Why a platform administrator cares. It appears throughout the activity report — outline statistics, runtime data, design metrics, outline warnings; Module 14. Calculation performance problems surface as Essbase statistics. Application size and data size are Essbase concerns, and they hit the limits in Module 12. The FreeForm connection: existing on-premises Essbase applications can be migrated into the FreeForm business process. A real modernization path clients ask about. DEEP ESSBASE TUNING IS A SPECIALIST SKILL AND OUT OF SCOPE HERE. RECOGNISING AN ESSBASE-SHAPED PROBLEM IN AN ACTIVITY REPORT IS NOT. That second thing is what this lesson delivers, and it is enough to know which specialist to call and what to tell them.
