Implementing Cloud Financials: From Empty Pod to Go-Live · Module 9 · Receivables
Receivables activities and adjustments
Lesson 94 of 153 · 10 min
Create receivables activities for write-off, bank charges and a miscellaneous receipt, and set the accounting for each. Process a small write-off with approval limits. Enter a miscellaneous receipt — bank interest received. And look at the approval limits configuration for adjustments. Write-off approval limits are a control, not an inconvenience. Set them with the controller, and set them at a number that means something: a limit high enough that nobody ever hits it is a control in name only. Miscellaneous receipts are how non-customer cash enters Receivables — bank interest, refunds, anything that arrives in the bank account with no invoice behind it. Every client needs at least one and few are ever shown it, which is why their bank reconciliation carries a permanent tail of unexplained credits.
