Mass additions from Payables

Enter a Payables invoice coded to an asset clearing account. Run the process that creates mass addition lines. Review the queue and what each status means. Prepare a line by assigning its category, assignment and dates. Merge two lines into one asset — a machine and its installation cost. Post the mass additions, look at the created asset, and watch the clearing account clear. This is the main way real assets arrive. Manual entry is for conversions and exceptions. The asset clearing account is the handshake between Payables and Assets. If it does not clear to zero, something is stuck in the queue. Make that a month-end check — it is one number and it answers a question nothing else asks. And merging is common and under-explained. Freight, installation and the asset itself are one asset, not three, and a register full of three-line assets is a register nobody can
