Implementing Cloud Financials: From Empty Pod to Go-Live · Module 1 · The Financials Landscape

The Setup and Maintenance area

Lesson 8 of 153 · 10 min

Setup and Maintenance is where configuration lives, and it has a hierarchy worth holding in your head: offerings contain functional areas, which contain features. Opt-in is where features hide. If something you have read about does not appear for you, check opt-in before you conclude it is unavailable or that you are looking in the wrong place. This is the single most common false alarm on a new environment. You can search for any task by name, which is usually faster than navigating to it. You can also create an implementation project — and it is worth being clear about what that is: a task list and a progress tracker, a project management tool. It is not a technical container and nothing depends on it. Some teams live in them; others ignore them and search tasks directly. Both work. Pick one and be consistent, because a half-used project is worse
