Getting an environment
Lesson 2 of 153 · 2 min
Reading about flexfield deployment teaches nothing. That is why this lesson comes before any content: you need somewhere to practise, or a clear-eyed fallback. Route one — your employer or partner tenant. Most learners already have access and have not realised it. Ask for a development instance with an implementation user, and ask the person who owns the environment rather than the service desk. Saying it precisely is most of the battle. Route two — a trial or personal edition. Signup paths and limits change, so check the current one rather than a screenshot. Expect an expiry date, and expect some features used in later modules to be unavailable. Route three — follow-along mode. Every lab guide carries a full screenshot walkthrough, so the course is completable without a tenant of your own. Honestly: this is second best. You will learn the what and the why, and you will not…
