What breaks: five BI Publisher failures

Five failures, and four of the five produce output rather than an error. One. A data model changed under a live template. An element renamed or moved; the template renders with a blank where a value was. No error, a document that looks nearly right, and the discovery is a supplier asking why their invoice number is missing. Two. A bursting file with a wrong key. Documents go to the wrong recipients. The job succeeds. This is the one to be frightened of, and Lesson 4 says why. Three. A template that renders locally and not on the server. Almost always a font that exists on your machine and not on the server, or an image referenced from a local path. The tell is that the output is correct except for the parts that are missing.
