The parties: client operations, client finance, engineering, IT, and the implementation partner. Engineering usually owns the item and structure data — and usually is not in the project governance. They own the thing that determines whether the project succeeds, and nobody has invited them to the steering committee. Fix that in week one. It is the cheapest intervention available to you. The typical team shape is six roles: manufacturing lead, inventory and materials lead, costing lead, data lead, integration lead, and change and training. If your project is missing the data lead, that work does not disappear — it is being done badly by everybody, in the evenings. What goes wrong on manufacturing projects specifically. One.
