Each lab ends by BREAKING SOMETHING DELIBERATELY. That is the part people skip and THE PART THAT TRANSFERS. Every lab has two halves, and the second is the one with the value in it. The first builds something and looks like the lesson. The second breaks it on purpose and observes what happens. IT TRANSFERS AND THE FIRST HALF LARGELY DOES NOT, FOR A SPECIFIC REASON. The build steps are documented and the interface changes between releases, so what you remember about where a button was will be wrong within a year. What does not go out of date is what a particular failure LOOKS LIKE — what the browser shows, what the network tab shows, and which two innocent-looking causes it resembles.
