A hosted place to build a web application, with a VISUAL DESIGNER OVER A REAL FRONT-END FRAMEWORK. What that buys and WHAT IT HIDES. Visual Builder is two things at once, and holding both is what makes the rest of this course make sense. IT IS A DESIGNER: you build pages by placing components, binding them to data, and wiring behaviour without writing much code. That is the visible half and it is what gets demonstrated. AND UNDERNEATH IT IS A REAL WEB APPLICATION BUILT ON A REAL FRAMEWORK. The components are Oracle JET components; the pages are HTML and JSON; the thing that runs in the browser is an ordinary single-page application making ordinary HTTP calls.
