Implementing Project Portfolio Management: From Organization Structure to Recognized Revenue · Module 10 · Budgeting, Forecasting and Progress
Creating and baselining a budget
Lesson 103 of 198 · 13 min
Create a financial plan version from the budget plan type. Enter or generate plan lines against the planning RBS, review the totals by resource and by period, submit for approval and approve. Baseline it — and understand what baselining means. Create a revised version and show both coexisting, then show the baseline used as the comparison in reporting. THE BASELINE IS THE PROMISE. Everything is measured against it. Changing it should be a controlled event — which is why Module 9 configured approval. Multiple versions with one baseline is the normal pattern.
