Implementing Cloud Financials: From Empty Pod to Go-Live · Module 7 · Tax

Building regime, tax, status, jurisdiction, rate

Lesson 68 of 153 · 18 min

Create the tax regime with its country, currency and controls. Subscribe the legal entities to the regime — and understand that without subscription nothing else works. Create the tax under the regime, create the standard and zero-rated statuses, create the jurisdiction linked to a geography you built earlier, create rates under each status with effective dates, create a recovery rate, and review the whole structure in one view. Subscription is the step people skip. Configure everything perfectly, forget to subscribe the legal entity, and nothing calculates. No error — just silence. Set effective dates from a real date the client gave you, not from today. Backdated invoices will fail otherwise, and that failure arrives weeks later during data migration. And controls at regime level cascade downwards, so set them deliberately. Overriding them at every level below is miserable work.
