Implementing Cloud Financials: From Empty Pod to Go-Live · Module 15 · AI Features
The opt-in model
Lesson 142 of 153 · 1 min
Features ship disabled so that existing customers are not disrupted at upgrade. Opt-in is where you turn them on, and the lesson shows where it lives and how to find features by offering and functional area. Some opt-ins are irreversible. Read before ticking. Same warning as the tax availability checkbox, and the same shape of regret. The release cycle matters here more than anywhere else in the course: features arrive quarterly and the opt-in list changes with them. Reviewing it after each release is a standing task, so put it in the client's operating runbook rather than in your own memory. And the thing to know before you get frustrated: AI features often have prerequisites beyond the opt-in — roles, data volume, sometimes a separate agreement. The failure mode is a feature that is technically enabled and completely invisible, with no error anywhere to explain why.
