Getting an environment

HCM is a configuration product. Almost nothing in it is code — it is a very large set of decisions expressed as settings, and the skill you are building is knowing which settings, in which order, and what each one commits you to. You cannot learn that by reading. Reading about position synchronisation teaches you nothing about position synchronisation. The first time you actually enable it on a live workforce you will discover the three things nobody thought to mention, because they only surface when it is your hands on the screen. Three routes, in order of how good they are. Your employer or partner tenant is the best, and the ask is specific: an HCM development instance, with an implementation user. Both halves matter — a development instance means you can break it without anybody's month ending badly, and an implementation user means setup access rather than a normal
