Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 6 · Quick Setup and the Conference Room Pilot

Facilities quick setup

Lesson 55 of 188 · 13 min

From the offering setup page, find the quick setup gear icon on the Facilities functional area. Step through the calendar page — select an existing calendar or create one — then the units of measure page, then the inventory organizations page. Set the additional usage to manufacturing to make the organization a plant. Complete, let it run, and note that the task can be repeated to add more organizations later. Every page corresponds to manual work from the two previous modules. You should recognise all of it — that recognition is the payoff of the ordering, and if nobody names it you will not notice you have it. The manufacturing usage dropdown is the difference between a warehouse and a plant. Easy to miss, consequential. This can be re-run, which is useful for adding a second organization to a pilot.
