Twelve capabilities. This is the whole course, said differently. Understand the estate and its licensing. Design and maintain identity and infrastructure structure. Deploy and migrate business processes. Design and operate an access model. Configure and maintain security posture. Deploy and support clients. Build and maintain automation. Recover from failure, demonstrably. Run the operating calendar. Monitor and produce evidence. Enable and support users. And evaluate and govern new capability. MOST ORGANIZATIONS HAVE SOME OF THESE AND DO NOT KNOW WHICH. Assessing an existing organization against this list is a genuinely valuable consulting engagement — and it takes about a day.
