Administering Cloud EPM: The Platform Beneath the Business Processes · Module 17 · The EPM Center of Excellence

The operating model

Lesson 192 of 201 · 1 min

The rhythm, assembled from Module 13's calendar and extended to the whole team. The intake process: how work reaches the CoE. Requests, incidents, changes, projects. WITHOUT A DEFINED ROUTE, EVERYTHING ARRIVES AS AN INTERRUPTION TO WHOEVER IS MOST VISIBLE. The prioritization question: who decides what gets done. This needs an owner, and it is frequently the thing that is missing. The relationship with the business processes' functional owners. They own WHAT THE APPLICATIONS DO. The CoE owns HOW THE PLATFORM RUNS and what standards apply. Draw the line explicitly, or it gets contested repeatedly. Measuring adoption: usage data from Module 14, support volume from Module 15, and whether the business processes are being used as designed. REPORT IT. A CoE THAT CANNOT DEMONSTRATE VALUE IS A CoE THAT GETS CUT. And the annual review of the CoE itself. What worked, what did not, what capability is still missing.
