EPM ASSISTANTS ARE DOWNLOADABLE, PRECONFIGURED TEMPLATES FOR CREATING AI AGENTS IN AI AGENT STUDIO. They are not agents you turn on. They are starting points you configure. That is where the confusion starts, so this lesson starts there too. What they do when imported: create agent definitions in AI Agent Studio that interact with Cloud EPM through REST APIs — retrieving data, triggering actions, automating interactions with a business process. WHAT THEY DO NOT INCLUDE: APPLICATION-SPECIFIC CONFIGURATION. The templates are generic. You must customize them to align with the client's actual business process — and that customization requires working knowledge of AI Agent Studio: how to configure agents, tools and workflows. AGENTS OPERATE WITHIN A SINGLE BUSINESS PROCESS. CROSS-PROCESS ORCHESTRATION IS NOT SUPPORTED. An agent cannot span Planning and Financial Consolidation and Close.
