Assigning roles to groups

Lesson 72 of 201 · 13 min

Navigate to role assignment for an environment and assign an application role to a GROUP, not a user. Repeat for a second environment with the same group. Add a new user to the group, then sign in as that user and show access appearing on BOTH environments, with no individual grant. Show the assignment from the group's side and from the environment's side, and show, for contrast, an individual assignment — and why you are not doing that. THAT DEMONSTRATION IS THE LESSON. One membership change, access on two environments, zero individual grants. It is the payoff for everything from Lesson 2 onward. Role changes may not be instant. Know the behaviour and tell users. The contrast case matters. You should see individual assignment once, understand it exists, and know why not to use it.
