The shape recurs across business processes: a service administration level, a power user level, a user level, and a view-only level. Names and exact capability vary. The shape does not. Service Administrator — full control of the business process. The most powerful role in an environment, and the one to grant most carefully. Power User — elevated capability short of full administration. User — normal working access. Viewer — read-only. The levels are cumulative in capability. Somebody does not need both. That sounds obvious and it is one of the commonest things you will find in an inherited estate. HOW MANY SERVICE ADMINISTRATORS? MORE THAN ONE, FEWER THAN FIVE. One is an operational risk. Many is a control problem. Verify the exact role names and capabilities per business process against current documentation. This is the sort of detail that shifts.
