Migration and what breaks

Migration first, briefly. If your environment is on an older version of this feature there is a migration path with considerations attached, and the honest limit is that this is version-dependent and must be verified against your own release. What holds generally is the shape: a migration exists, it changes how rules are expressed, and you should not run it on a populated environment without testing it on a copy first. This is the one place in the course where reading your version's documentation beats being told something that might be wrong about your environment. Then five failures. Seniority is wrong for everyone we rehired — the break-in-service rule was not configured. Transfers reset seniority — the rule was set at assignment level where person level was needed.
