Implementing Global HR: From Enterprise Model to Live Workforce · Module 12 · Seniority Dates

Common rule configurations

Lesson 123 of 175 · 12 min

Four real-world rules, built on screen, and for each one: the business rule in words, then the configuration, then the result on a test worker. That order deliberately — the words first, so you are translating rather than copying. Continuous service, breaks reset the clock — the simple case. Breaks under a threshold bridged — a rehire within a short window retains prior service. Group service across legal employers — transfers within the group preserve seniority, which is the person-level case. Part-time adjusted — service accrues proportionally to FTE. Those four cover most client requirements. Treat them as a starting library rather than as examples: recognising which of the four a client is describing is most of the design work done in the meeting.
