Implementing Global HR: From Enterprise Model to Live Workforce · Module 13 · Document Records
Flexfields and contextual attributes
Lesson 130 of 175 · 12 min
Configure a descriptive flexfield on the document record, create a context that defaults based on document type, configure flexfield parameters in value sets so values are constrained by that context, show a type-specific set of extra fields appearing, then deploy and test. Context-driven flexfields are what let one document record structure serve visas, qualifications and contracts with entirely different attributes. Without them you get a wall of irrelevant fields, most of them blank, on every record — which is how a form teaches people to skip it.
