Review the category and subcategory lookups, create categories and subcategories, then create document types with their attributes — expiry dates, required fields, attachment requirements. Configure the labels for standard attributes so they read sensibly per type, set country and legal employer restrictions, set document record availability, and show which type attributes can be changed after records exist and which cannot. Design the type list with HR and legal together. It is not an IT decision — and it is the one most likely to be handed to IT, because it looks like a list of dropdown values. Expiry dates on types like visas and certifications enable proactive reporting. Configure them AND build the report. Configuration without the report is one of this module's six failures, and it is worse than not configuring it at all, because it looks handled. And some attributes are locked once records exist.
