Implementing Project Portfolio Management: From Organization Structure to Recognized Revenue · Module 12 · Project Costing: the Accounting Setup
Cost collection and the additional segment
Lesson 123 of 198 · 12 min
Define an additional segment in the cost collection flexfield, set its properties and attach a value set, deploy, show the segment available to accounting rules, and show a transaction carrying the additional attribute. Add a segment ONLY when the client's accounting genuinely needs an attribute the delivered structure does not carry. Every addition is permanent maintenance and a field somebody populates. Deploy after any change. Document the purpose of every added segment. In two years nobody will remember.
