Value sets for the flexfield

Create a new value set for the additional segment, set the validation type and data type, configure segments to limit the list of values so a planner sees only valid combinations, attach the value set to the segment, then deploy and test. LIMITING THE LIST OF VALUES IS WHAT STOPS INVALID COMBINATIONS AT ENTRY. It is the difference between clean accounting data and a monthly cleanup. Table-validated value sets pull from existing data and stay current. Independent value sets need maintaining.
