Schedules and exceptions

Lesson 44 of 198 · 13 min

Create a schedule from a workday pattern, with effective dates. Generate the schedule forward several years. Create exceptions for public holidays, a company shutdown exception, and an individual exception for one resource. View the resulting calendar and verify a specific week. GENERATE SEVERAL YEARS FORWARD. A schedule that runs out causes failures that look like system faults — and it fails on the first working day of a year, to everybody at once. Holiday exceptions must be maintained annually. Put it in the client's runbook with an owner and a deadline. Multi-country clients need multiple schedules. Ask which countries have staff before assuming one.
