Two calendar concepts

Learners meet "calendar" in two contexts and assume they are the same thing. They are not, and this lesson exists to prevent that. The project calendar defines working days for project scheduling. It determines task durations, milestone dates and the project timeline. The resource calendar defines a person's or a resource's availability. It determines who can work when, and drives capacity and utilization on the execution side. Where they differ in practice. A project may run on a five-day calendar while a specific consultant works four days. Both must be modelled, or either the schedule or the staffing will be wrong. Not both wrong — either, depending on which one you left out. That is what makes it hard to spot. The building blocks are shared. Shifts, workday patterns, schedules, exceptions. Same objects.
