Implementing Project Portfolio Management: From Organization Structure to Recognized Revenue · Module 13 · Project Costing: Capture and Processing
Timecards and labour cost
Lesson 133 of 198 · 12 min
Show the time entry setup, connecting to Module 3's project unit option. Record time against a project and task, show the resulting expenditure item after import, show the rate applied from Module 6, and the burden from Module 11, show the accounting from Module 12, and show a timecard rejected for an invalid project-task combination. THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST COMMON COST SOURCE, AND THE ONE WHERE THE WHOLE CHAIN BECOMES VISIBLE. Trace it end to end: timecard, expenditure item, rate, burden, account, journal. Six modules, one transaction. Time entry profiles and processing profiles are configured in Module 17. The rejection case matters — invalid combinations are routine, and somebody must fix them weekly.
