Data size and its limits

What contributes to data size in an environment, how to determine current size, the maximum allowed size and where you are against it, the effect of size on snapshot and restore time, and what to do as an environment approaches the limit. SIZE AFFECTS RECOVERY TIME DIRECTLY. A large environment takes longer to snapshot and longer to restore. That belongs in the recovery time calculation. MONITOR SIZE AS A TREND, NOT A SNAPSHOT. An environment growing steadily will hit the limit on a predictable date — and knowing that date is the difference between a planned action and an incident. Module 14. Data volume management is partly a FUNCTIONAL matter — archiving old scenarios, clearing unused data — which means the conversation involves the business process owner, not just you.
