Administering Cloud EPM: The Platform Beneath the Business Processes · Module 12 · Business Continuity and Recovery
Managing daily backups
Lesson 139 of 201 · 12 min
Show where the daily backup and maintenance snapshot appear, and the maintenance window's relationship to when the snapshot is taken. Download the maintenance snapshot, automate that download using the Module 11 backup script, verify the downloaded file, and show the on-demand artifact snapshot path. DOWNLOADING THE SNAPSHOT TO STORAGE YOU CONTROL IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL HABIT IN THIS MODULE. The platform's copy is fine until the day you need something from outside its retention window, or the day you cannot reach the environment at all. The Module 11 script does this. This is why that script was the first one built. Verify the downloaded file is complete. A truncated snapshot discovered during a restore is a bad moment.
