The main finance job roles and what each is for: General Accountant, Accounting Manager, Payables Specialist and Manager, Receivables Specialist and Manager, Cash Manager, Asset Accountant, Tax Manager, Financial Analyst. The implementation consultant role is enormous. It is appropriate for setup and never appropriate for a production business user. Saying that twice is deliberate. Then the abstract roles everyone needs, and what breaks without them: expense entry, approvals routing, the worklist. A user with a perfect job role and no abstract role is one of the commonest tickets in the first week. Copy versus use as delivered is a genuine trade-off rather than a rule. Delivered roles change between releases; copies do not inherit those changes and have to be maintained by you.
