Return to the ledger you built two modules ago. Assign the legal entities to it, assign balancing segment values to each legal entity, and complete the ledger definition again if the application asks you to. Then prove it: enter a journal against entity 01's balancing segment value and watch it accepted, then enter one against an unassigned value and watch what happens. Finish by reviewing the whole structure end to end — ledger, two entities, three business units, balancing segments — with the finished diagram on screen. Balancing segment value assignment is what makes entity-level reporting and intercompany balancing possible at all. A value assigned to the wrong entity produces financial statements that look fine and are wrong. Nothing errors, everything balances, and the numbers are attributed to the wrong company.
