Implementing Global HR: From Enterprise Model to Live Workforce · Module 16 · HCM Data Loader and Data Migration

Lesson 156 of 175 · 14 min
Configure the loader settings and access. Open a simple .dat file in a text editor and read the metadata line aloud. Zip and upload, import and load, watch the process, review the results. Then introduce a deliberate error, reload, and read the error message properly — correct it, reload, and verify the loaded records in the application. Do the whole cycle uncut, including the failure. The error handling is the lesson — a clean load teaches nothing the documentation does not. Read the .dat file as text. Learners who have only ever seen spreadsheets need to see what is actually being loaded; it demystifies everything that follows. And sample-load twenty records first. This is the fourth time it has been said across both courses. It is said repeatedly because it is ignored repeatedly.
