A hands-on lesson in the setup area, and one habit that will outlast every release this product ships. An offering is a bundle of setup you enable and configure together; the one containing Global HR is Workforce Deployment. Inside an offering are functional areas, and these are worth learning by name because they are how setup tasks are organised: enterprise profile, legal structures, organization structures, workforce structures, data loading, workforce information, and elements and formulas plus payroll — which are there because Workforce Deployment carries the payroll-adjacent setup even when you are not implementing payroll. That surprises people; it is not a mistake. Then the opt-in page. Features frequently arrive switched off, deliberately, so a quarterly update does not change behaviour under you without consent.
