Eight roles, and what each is actually for. Manufacturing Engineer — work definitions, resources, work centers. Production Supervisor — work order management, scheduling, exceptions. Production Operator — shop floor execution, dispatch list, transactions. Inventory Manager — inventory transactions, counting, on-hand. Warehouse Manager — receiving, shipping, warehouse operations. Product Data Steward — items and structures. Cost Accountant — cost setup, cost planning, cost processing. And Employee, the abstract role everyone needs and everyone forgets — missing it produces a broken home page with no obvious cause, which is why it is on the diagnostic. The implementation consultant role is broad, appropriate for setup, and never appropriate for a production business user.
