Halden Works, and this scenario carries through the whole course, so learn its shape now. Halden Works operates two plants. Plant A makes finished assemblies. Plant B makes components and ships them to Plant A. There is one central warehouse organization holding raw material for both, and Finance runs one cost organization covering both plants. Staff: one manufacturing engineer covering both plants, one supervisor and two operators per plant, one inventory manager for the warehouse, one warehouse manager, one product data steward, one cost accountant. Two details are doing work there, pointed at rather than solved. The engineer covers both plants, so that row of the grid has two organizations in it — and it is the row people fill in for one.
